A Step Forward for Sea World’s Orcas

A Step Forward for Sea World’s Orcas

Sea World has been handed a decision which could see the end to orcas in captivity in the future. Sea World’s plans for another orca tank have been approved, which is disheartening for the prolonged captivity of the orcas there and their exploitation for people’s amusement. However, the California Coastal Commission did put in place a key amendment: there must be no more breeding of the orcas.

Ultimately, this will lead to the end of orcas in captivity. In the meantime, we would like to see these beautiful creatures freed from their unnaturally small tanks and retired to coastal sanctuaries. You can help People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) get this message across to Sea World by clicking the link and letting them know that their orcas deserve a more natural, freer life in a sanctuary.
