14 Aug Giant Chicken Farm Proposed
Plans for a giant broiler chicken farm which would house 200 000 birds have been resubmitted in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Herefordshire. The chance to object ends 14th August 2015.Last year a farmer withdrew his application for the factory farm after the planners received hundreds of letters of objection from animal lovers and local residents. Help is needed again.
Chickens on factory farms live their whole lives (as little as 41 days) in giant sheds surrounded by their own excrement which can cause burns. They never see the sun or feel the fresh air.
A farm of this size in a small village on the edge of the Malverns will also have a detrimental impact on the local environment and set a precedent for such places in the future.
