We want to thank everyone who got involved with our competition to name Dotty's five piglets, we received so many fantastic suggestions it was hard to pick just five! But the five we picked and particularly loved were Patch, Stanley, Humphrey, Prudence and Clover. Well done to the winners and we will continue to update you with mum and babies journey. ...

Earlier this month the Gloucester Vegans group paid a visit to the sanctuary and very kindly gave up their time to help our staff complete some very important tasks. It's the third time they have been out to volunteer and they always do such a fantastic job! Not only did they clear a whole area of weeds and dug a pond for our ducks they also managed to move the Golden Boys house to a different area of the field which had been on our to do list for quite a while! We are always so busy here at the sanctuary so receiving their support was a huge help and we can't wait to have them back again....

Last weekend we were kindly invited to have a stall at Compassion @ the Castle in Exeter. The fair was organised by Exeter Friends For Animals and Animal Aid and it was the grand finale of the two week Vegan Festival of Britain. There were loads of stalls and a great choice of vegan foods, as well as talks, cookery demonstrations and live music. This was followed by an after party where they were serving delicious vegan hot dogs and burgers. It was a fantastic day and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to you all about our work. Thank you to all our old and new supporters for your interest and for donating and we hope to see many of you at our open day on Sunday 3rd September 2017...

Dot's piglets are almost two weeks old now and we would like your help to choose their names. She has given birth to five adorable piglets, three of which are boys and two are girls. Each of them, with the exception of one who is all pink, perfectly resemble their mum, covered in little black spots and already looking like they will inherit mum’s big floppy ears! We also have one who is much smaller then the rest and believe this could be because they were the runt of the litter....

Dotty has gave birth to five adorable little piglets! She went into labor at 6 pm on Saturday night and delivered her final baby on Sunday morning at 11 am. Despite her last piglet being very small they are all doing extremely well and our vet has been out to check them over. This will be Dotty's fourth litter, sadly her previous piglets (31 in total) were taken from her at a very young age and sent to slaughter. Dotty would have faced the same fate too if it hadn't have been for all of the dedicated supporters and the Viva! team for helping to raise enough money to bring her back to our sanctuary where she can live and grow old with her babies by her side....

We will be having our very first open day on Sunday 3rd September and we would love to see many of our supporters there. It will be a fun day for all of the family, with lots going on and the perfect opportunity for you to finally meet the 100 residents living at the sanctuary....

A little while ago we were contacted by the organizers of Cheltenham Vegan Fair, Charlie and Hannah. Two very dedicated animal welfare enthusiasts who have very generously offered to support Dean Farm Trust by donating all of the profits from their event to support our animals. We can't thank them enough and we are extremely excited for the fair which will be held on the 28th August 2017 at Cheltenham Town Hall....

Please say hello to our new resident ducks, Jemima, Huey and Bean! They came to us from very loving owners but due to unforeseen circumstances they could no longer offer them a home. When they contacted us we gladly accepted and they are the first ducks to join our animal family! Jemima, Huey and Bean have been with us almost a month now and have settled in extremely well. They are great friends and spend most of the time following each other around in their new garden or can be seen taking a relaxing dip in their paddling pool!...

We will be marching the streets of London on Monday 29th May alongside thousands of others to show our support for the Anti-Hunt Campaign. This campaign is to demonstrate against Theresa May's recent announcement to repeal the fox hunting ban. The prime minister and leader of the Conservative party has pledged to hold a free vote in the hope to legalize this brutal and barbaric blood sport, despite 84% of the British people being in favor of the ban....

Little Alan was brought to the sanctuary after a member of public grew very concerned for his welfare. When he arrived he was so small and he seemed quite poorly so we called our vets immediately to examine him. We were told he was severely underweight and we believe he had been orphaned by his mother due to not having enough milk to feed him....
