Welcome to our sanctuary, the home of our rescued animals.

Our location
We are located in Chepstow, South Wales, close to the border with England. As we are not accessible by public transport you will need to use of your own transportation to reach us.

Most sat navs will take you to the wrong address. Please use Google Maps and search “Dean Farm Animal Sanctuary” or use three little words – our location is secure.rides.feasted.
We are 2 miles from Shirenewton Village. We are big agricultural agricultural barns on the side of the road, with no house (we do not have a driveway).
Visitor safety accessibility and footware
- Please listen to staff and volunteer instructions at all times and observe signage around the sanctuary.
- We are a working sanctuary and may need to move animals or vehicles during open hours – please be vigilant.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Strictly no running or shouting in the sanctuary.
- Do not touch or feed any animals.
- Do not put your face near an animal’s face – some can bite and peck.
- The sanctuary has paths and tracks, which are uneven in places. Some of the access is across open fields, so care must be taken when walking around the sanctuary.
- Sturdy footwear must be worn and welly boots are advised if it is wet.
- Some areas of the sanctuary are not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs – please ask a member of staff for advice on these areas.
- Please do not enter any paddocks with the animals.
- Please secure any loose items – foreign objects in the paddocks could cause fatal injuries to our residents.
- Due to many of our residents free roaming we ask that you leave your doggies at home for these events..
Food and drink
- Dean Farm Trust is a place of sanctuary to our rescued residents and as such, we are a vegan sanctuary.
- Please do not bring animal food products to the sanctuary – food and drink will be available for purchase at every event.
- The food we provide at events will be plant-based.
- If you have allergies, please ask a member of staff for advice.
- We cannot guarantee our products do not contain allergens, so if in doubt, please do not eat any products that we may be serving that day.
Hand washing
- The sanctuary provides hand washing facilities.
- Please wash your hands after touching any animals, or any fencing, gates or the ground near the animals.
- Please use soap and water – alcohol hand gel is not as effective.
- Ensure hands are thoroughly clean before eating or drinking.
- Do not eat or drink in any of the animal areas.
- Please make sure children’s hands are cleaned thoroughly and ensure any dummies and bottles are taken home and sterilised, if dropped.
Car parking
- Cars are left at your own risk – please ensure they are locked and valuables are not left in them.
- Dogs are not permitted to be left in hot cars. If any dogs are found in cars on a hot day, the owners will be kindly asked to leave.
- Please be careful when leaving the site and follow the instructions of staff.
Signage
- Please observe signage around the sanctuary and do not enter any areas that are not permitted.
Leaving the sanctuary
- Footwear, pushchair and wheelchair wheels must be cleaned on leaving the sanctuary. Please use the facilities provided at the boot cleaning station outside the entrance door.
